What is a Holter Monitor?
A Holter monitor is a type of portable electrocardiogram. It records the electrical activity of the heart, usually over a period of 24-48 hours to over days up to weeks. While a regular ECG shows your heart’s activity at one point in time, a Holter monitor can allow healthcare professionals to evaluate your heartbeat over time as you go about your daily activities.

Schedule AppointmentThe monitor will take approximately 10 minutes hour to be set up.
During your appointment, an electrode will be applied to the chest.
From there, you will be given instructions on how to take care of it and what to avoid. Once you have all the information you can return to your normal activities.
You may be asked to keep a diary of your activities, any symptoms, and when they occur. An Astra Healthcare provider will compare those times to what the monitor showed.
Results
Once you return your Holter monitor, you can return to your normal activities. When your results are available, a healthcare provider will discuss them with you.
