What is Blood Volume Analysis?
Blood Volume Analysis (BVA) is recognized as the “gold standard” methodology in quantifying circulating blood volume. A dose of Albumin I-131 tracer is injected through an IV. Once the tracer has fully circulated in the bloodstream, a series of small blood samples are drawn within an hour. Samples are sent to a core laboratory for processing and results are sent shortly thereafter.
